Content Guidelines
1. Private Stories and Scenarios
Private content is not moderated. Private content is for your eyes only.
2. What's not allowed in Public or Unlisted Scenarios
The following content is not allowed in any Public or Unlisted Scenarios on FicMachine.
This list is not exhaustive. We may unpublish Scenarios that go against the spirit of these guidelines.
2.1 Non-fiction
Content that attempts to use the AI for purposes other than co-writing fictional stories (e.g. as an assistant, therapist, lawyer, doctor, etc.).
2.2. Spam, promotion and impersonation
Content that is promotional, attempts to impersonate another person or entity (e.g., staff), or solicits personal information, money, or external services.
2.3. Content targeting real-life individuals
- Any content that names, describes, or references a real person (whether a public figure or private individual) in a way that could be used to reveal private, personal, or non-public information about them.
- Any content designed to bully, stalk, harass, defame, or incite hatred against a real person.
2.4. Sexual content involving children
The explicit or implied glorification, encouragement, or detailed depiction of any form of sex act involving children.
2.5. Encouraging hate and/or violence against real people
- Content which attacks or demeans people based on personal characteristics.
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or details acts of terrorism, violent extremist groups, or calls for mass violence.
2.6. Encouraging self-harm and/or suicidal ideation
Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for self-harming behaviors (e.g., eating disorders, self-injury, suicide, etc).
2.7 Illicit content
Content which encourages, promotes or provides instructions for commiting illegal acts (e.g., stealing, making drugs, making weapons, etc.).
3. Mature Content
Publication of mature content is allowed as long as the scenario is classified as mature.
Classifying your Scenario as mature does not mean it can contain prohibited content (as specified above).
Mature Scenarios are intended for an adult audience and you must be 18+ to see and create mature scenarios. A Scenario should be rated mature if the stories derived from it are likely to contain the following:
- Explicit sex scenes
- Self-harm themes or scenes
- Graphic depictions of violence
- Graphic depictions of abuse, trauma, depression, etc.
If you think that your scenario contains any of these themes, please rate it as mature.
4. Images
Explicit images are not allowed regardless of the scenario mature rating.
Images may be rejected based on the following reasons:
- Sexual or suggestive content as the main focus of the image.
- Images depicting violence or disturbing scenes.
5. Enforcement
These Content Guidelines are enforced whenever you save a scenario with visibility Public or Unlisted. The enforcement is automated using an AI model. To limit the cost of running the enforcement, each user gets 5 moderation checks per scenario per day.
The moderation tool is a perpetual work in progress. If you feel that your scenario has been mistakenly classified, submit an appeal for human review.
